This has been a very strange second half of the year for me as all my original plans seem to have gone out of the window and so time has been utilised in preparing mainly for next year and 2024, although I made a decision that Xmas could not come and go without some shows and so I picked up the telephone and spoke to some old friends and as a result I am doing a one man Xmas show at the Princess Theatre in Hunstanton on the 7th of December. There will also be 2 shows on the 10th and 11th of November at the Lowther Pavilion in Lytham St Annes… and that's this year done and dusted.
As mentioned in the August GORR, I have decided to somehow keep going until my 77th birthday in 2026, but it does seem likely that this could well get pushed into 2027 if health allows and also if I'm wanted.
The filming at the Granary went really well and there is more booked, including some filming with Gordon Giltrap in October.
The playback I mentioned last month was amazing… but I still can't say much until the management have completed a deal… which I am told is very close.
The Bargain Hunt filming was tremendous fun. I can't tell you if myself and Heather Small won, or if we made a profit... but it will be well worth watching the finished programme on Children in Need… I think it's the 16th of September but check out the listings.
I've got a load more meetings and also I'm having a car clear out and a photographer is coming to take some photos ready for the auction.
Also to mention once again the two Xmas specials to help raise money for Saving Strays, the dog charity of which myself and my wife Rachel are very proud patrons. Along with some lovely guests I'm performing 2 special Xmas concerts at Guildford Cathedral on the 24th of November and St Mary le Tower in Ipswich on the 23rd of December.
Details of where to get tickets are on the website … please support us if you can … a lovely way to welcome in Xmas …..especially for the doggies!Cheers Rick
