GORR October 2022

GORR October 2022

It certainly feels like it's the last third of the year and everything seems to be piling up, with not enough time to do everything… I am already working on the sleeve notes for the album and I'm told it will be available on the Xmas UK tour but won't officially be released until Spring 2023…

October has already started with my filming for a Channel 5 documentary about my good friend Jeremy Clarkson… it was a lot of fun to do and it's going to be a very funny programme for sure.

There was also a wonderful celebration concert in Seattle for Alan White and I'm only sorry I couldn't be there. Alan was such a special gentle soul… except when he was behind the drum kit!! I hope on the next tour I do in America I get to see Gigi and the family and I wish them well for the future with many happy memories.

I am trying to sort music out for both the Granary shows and also the Xmas tour, but my music is all over the place… we're moving and so there are boxes everywhere and in a couple of them is the music I'm looking for… doesn't bode well!!!

The two Granary shows are on the 11th and 12th and will be myself, Adam and Hayley and will be a similar show to the one we did at Ronnie Scott's. It will certainly probably be the last time we'll be able to do this particular repertoire, so if you can make it… I'm sure you won't be disappointed… hope not anyway!!

On Saturday 15th I will be a guest judge at Recovery's Got Talent in Bury St Edmonds. I was a judge at this event a couple of years ago and found it very moving and inspiring as people who had had severe difficulties in their lives, had pulled their lives together and performed on stage in music, theatre and art.  It takes courage to do what they are doing and I support them wholeheartedly and look forward to the evening very much.

On the 18th I will be playing Clair de Lune as a small part of a special concert for the Duke of Kent at Freemasons Hall in Covent Garden. The tickets sold out in a matter of minutes and so I am told that it may well be streamed live… (better not play too many wrong'uns then!!)

On the 20th I will be at The Military Chapel, (The Guards Chapel, Birdcage Walk, London, SW1E 6HQ), where I will be performing with the Household Cavalry Band (and brilliant they are too) and some of the Orion Symphony Orchestra… it's very much "An Evening With…" so lots of opportunity not just for music, but to answer questions that are put to me. These evenings are always great fun. Kick-off is at 7.30pm. All proceeds go to The Household Cavalry Foundation, their official charity that helps our serving soldiers, operational casualties, veterans and their dependents, as well as the welfare of their retired horses.

On Sunday 30th, I will be at Burgh House in Hampstead with my great friend Peter Egan for a concert and evening of fund-raising for Saving Suffering Strays. Please come along if you can…

That's it for October… at the moment anyway!!! Things are bound to change or unexpectedly happen, so keep checking in on the website for any surprises!!!
