Sorry this is a bit late but I really have been bogged down with so much I've hardly had time to watch any sitcom re-runs for ages!!
Already this month I have done quite a lot of promotional interviews for the upcoming October tour and it all seems to be coming together extremely well, rehearsals will be starting at the beginning of October and its going to be manic… but manic in a nice way.
We welcome 3 new "backing/choir" vocalists into the English Rock Ensemble and Hayley Sanderson has arranged their parts for them, adapting from the original scores.
The Return to the Red Planet finished recording and will now wait until later in the year when Erik will start mixing. We are all genuinely excited to hear the final result early next year.
In the meantime Melancholia is released next month and I am so happy with the final result. Its a true concept piano album and is a real musical journey.
More podcasts this month as well, both The Myths and Legends of Rick Wakeman and also Sounds of the 7 Year Olds which I do with Griff Rhys Jones and is very different from the solo podcast, but they have one thing in common… they both make me chuckle!
I also have more recording to do in the form of adding keyboards to a couple of tracks for Cleopatra Records and also an afternoon at Radio Suffolk on the 19th talking about anything and everything.
Very busy day on the 30th as I travel to London to unveil a blue plaque for my late great friend Marc Bolan. Long overdue, but that seems to be the case for so many musicians who have passed on. Better late than never though and I am proud to have been asked to be a part of the ceremony.
That same day is a launch event for Melancholia and more details will follow later this month and will appear on the website.
There are other happenings this month and for the remainder of the year and a full report on these will appear in future ramblings … And then, would you believe, well be looking toward 2026… How time flies !!!!!
