June is upon us and the diary is filling up with quite a few bits of filming for some new documentaries, including one about the wonderful life of my old pal Norman Wisdom.
On the 1st of June, and I won't believe it until it happens, SKY are meant to be coming to the house we've just moved to in order to install SKY Q for us. This is proving extremely difficult as we have now placed our order three times and three times when we call up to find out what is happening, we get somebody different from a call centre who tells us that the order has either been cancelled or it's not what they think we want and so have cancelled it for that reason… to be honest, the service is dreadful but there's no other option. I've missed all the play offs and will miss the cup final and if SKY continue to be so bad, probably I'll miss next year's cup final as well.
On Saturday the 3rd I'm very honoured to be performing the opening of our village fete. I love village fetes and we're bound to come back home with armfuls of local produce, jams and other stuff that aren't great for either my diet or my diabetes, but it's only once a year!
On the 8th I take the train to London to record a programme especially for NOW TV…
On the 13th I am back in London for meetings to finalise the tour for next February with the English Rock Ensemble. Tickets are going fast, (I'm please to say), so much so that my promoter has said if it continues to sell well, they'll look at a similar plan for the Six Wives and King Arthur show, which would make me a very happy bunny!
On the 15th I have some exploratory meetings with a major radio network company about doing something a bit different for them. I know what it is they have in mind, but I can't say yet, so you'll just have to try and guess. What a tease eh!!!
On the 20th I am a guest on Radio London. Great station and lovely people.
It's amazing how quickly the days pass. It seems like only yesterday that it was in fact yesterday! I'm going to finish off by annoying some of you football fans out there by congratulating Man City on another title and also Brentford who have done absolutely brilliantly and even beat City both home and away…
And very finally… on the 21st of next month (July), along with Adam and Hayley we will be doing our Strictly Wakeman Show, with some additions to our Ronnie Scott set, which will include a very different Q&A… I used to go and see concerts at the Wigmore Hall when I was a student at the Royal College of Music way back in the 1960s but never ever played there so it's nice to be able to finally tick it off of the list of places I haven't played but would like to!!
That's it for now… enjoy the summer, unless the heatwave we had at the end of May was it!
Cheers Rick
