GORR July 2023

Following on from the June GORR, I am happy to report that I now have SKY installed and working! I am as happy as one can be being able to watch GOLD, YESTERDAY, THE HISTORY CHANNEL, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, SKY SPORTS, BT SPORTS, ALIBI, DAVE and so many more of my so-called relaxing channels!

My plans for the remainder of this year and indeed, next year, seem to be constantly changing for reasons out of my control as my agents and management seem to have different ideas now as to what I should be doing, what I could be doing and what I would be doing if the original ideas had been able to be adhered to, but I understand that things do change these days as the climate changes in different countries and within the music world, which I will admit to not understanding anymore.

The second leg of the one man show tour which was due to go ahead in October and November this year, starting on the West Coast of America, has been cancelled. There will now be a much larger coast to coast one man show tour of America sometime next year and there will be an announcement made about this later in the year.

Anyway, back to July… there are still a lot of boxes to unpack and the more I empty, the more I seem to keep finding. There are going to be multiple car boot sales as well as hundreds of items going on ebay before the end of the year.

On Tuesday 4th, I am meeting with Mark Jeeves who produced many of the radio shows I have been involved with over the years, including the classic Planet Rock Saturday morning show that was so "cruelly" and short-sightedly taken off the air! Anyway, we will be discussing a new project and hopefully it will come to fruition before the end of the year.

On the 4th as well I will be signing a load of box sets which I know are late being sent out, which is partly my fault for not being available due to the move and Rob Ailing's wife giving birth to twins, which quite rightly are taking up the majority of his time!

I will also be spending a lot of time trying to sort out the piles of music that are currently in no semblance of order and amongst it all is the music I need for the Wigmore Hall concert with Adam and Hayley. We are looking at making this evening a bit different and finding some of what I'm looking for is certainly crucial. On the 20th, Adam, Hayley and myself will be rehearsing and then the concert is the following day on the 21st. It's a lovely 3-piece show, (well it is lovely for me anyway), and has possibilities to really develop if the powers that be can see it that way as well.

On the 23rd, I could well be doing some filming in advance for the BBC's Children in Need. I can't say what it involves unfortunately so you'll just have to guess. I can tell you though that it's not Naked Attraction. I know this for sure as I've been told I wouldn't stand out enough.

With dates yet to be firmed up, we will be doing some more filming for RWTV and trying to catch up somewhat with stuff that was either postponed or cancelled due to the mad Covid years.

I have made a "tick" list of stuff that I want to do over the next 2 or 3 years and somehow I will make as many of them happen as possible.

That's about it for now… enjoy the summer!!!

Cheers Rick
