| I mentioned the Buggles earlier on and Rock and Roll Prophet was recorded in the late 70's in Switzerland and was meant to be a spoof on them in many ways. I wanted to release it under a different name as my name stunk at the time with the growth of Punk. I wanted it to come out under a band name of KUDOS. This never happened of course and the album remained in moth balls until after 1984 had actually been recorded and released. A big mistake. |

| I love the sounds on this album. Very analogue and a pretty decent production too. It was later released as Rock and Roll Prophet Plus with extra tracks. |
| Little Known Trivia |
| The album actually spanned four women in my life! I started the album when I was married to Danielle in Switzerland and after the divorce had two "brief encounters" before meeting Nina who actually appears on the back of the cover...... (although not in re-issues she won't)!! |

Sure, I was familiar with his shining Yes moments and The Six Wives Of Henry The VIII record but I wanted more of the same thing.What you get here is toe-tapping,slightly psychedelic,light-hearted "pop" tunes,a marvelously odd-ball record and quite underrated. |
Bjorn Olaf Syvertsen on 4th December 1997 [Other reviews] No wonder Rick had problems getting this album out! This album is sheer stupidity. Having finished "Rhapsodies" (see my review of that one), Rick wanted to go further into the land of disco. It was definitely the wrong way to go. Yet, it is not totally hopeless. "I'm So Straight I'm a Weirdo" is very funny and has an ingenious title. And "Spy of 55" is an amusing blend of disco and doo-wop. This album was recorded in 1979. No wonder Rick hoped that "Maybe 80" would "be a better year"... |
